The plain-English version

Privacy

We designed The Snack Calendar to collect only the information needed to coordinate a team snack schedule.

Information we collect

Organizers provide a name, email address, team details, event dates, locations, and optional snack guidance. Parents claiming a date provide a family name and email address. We also use limited device storage to remember assignments and organizer access on that device.

How we use it

We use this information to create and operate calendars, show which dates are covered, let families manage their assignments, prevent double-booking, send transactional confirmations and reminders, recover organizer access, and provide customer support. We do not sell personal information.

Analytics and security

We record limited product events such as calendar creation, calendar views, sharing, and completed signups so we can understand whether the service works. These events use a random device session identifier and do not include snack notes, family names, or email addresses. We also process network information such as an IP address for short-lived rate limiting and bot protection.

Children and allergy information

The service is intended for adult organizers and parents. Do not enter a child's full name, email, medical record, or other sensitive personal information. Allergy guidance should be anonymous and team-wide, such as “nut-free snacks.”

Shared calendars

Team calendars are unlisted but accessible to anyone with the link. Only share a calendar with the people who need it. Family names used to claim dates are visible on that calendar; email addresses are not publicly displayed.

Data retention and deletion

We keep calendar information while it is needed to provide the service. Organizers can archive or permanently delete a calendar from the organizer control center. You may also request deletion of personal information by emailing hello@thesnackcalendar.com.

Updates

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
